I've always loved poetry - reading it, writing it.
One way and another I've been a teacher and writer most of my life. In 2001 I completed an MA in creative and life writing at Goldsmiths College, London. My last job was as an NHS education adviser. I lead a U3A poetry reading group, and divide my time between Sussex, UK and Italy. Travelling between two countries, constantly arriving or about to leave, seems to open other doors too. I particularly like the way poetry springs up even when I'm busy with journeys, work or family, my mind on other things.
'Beautiful, surprising poems - very real and tacky in their details but suddenly lifted by a breath from another world'
Alice Oswald
'Recollections of one of Henry James' characters exhorting another to 'live all you can' come to mind...All you need are words.'
Michael Mackmin
